(re)Visiones at Fundació Vila Casas

(re) Visiones (25 May – 16 September 2016) is a group exhibition by the students of the Elisava Master in Photography and Design, in collaboration with the Vila Casas Foundation (Fundació Vila Casas).

The show offers a multi-disciplinary, contemporary visual approach that takes into account the physical presence of the body and exploring the architecture and pictorial collection of the Can Framis Museum. The works hang in the courtyard entrance to the museum and the work was guided by tutors Diego Ferrari, Pedro Vicente and Sabela Eiriz.

My work, May I?, is based on the painting by Gerard Fernández titled Equilibrios y Otras Obesesiones. This is an abstract painting that infuses serenity using colors in landscape while simultaneously breaking the balance with jumbled lines. This contrast was the jumping off point for this study of hands based on my personal experience of plastic surgery. I wanted to convey both a woman´s natural balance and ability to cope as well as the upset that affects the body in going through such a process.
