Two Milestones in a Week

I´m very much trying to stay ahead of the game with my homework at Elisava. But I am pleased I was able to hit two additional milestones this week. The main image is from a submission for Center (Santa Fe) for the Project Development Grant. It relates to my documentary project on the fiestas of Menorca that has been ongoing since 2003.  For this project in 2014 I actually learned to ride a horse for the first time.

This is typical of the kind of project I like to do, where I 100% immerse myself in the setting and lives of my subjects. It was great to get to know those who look after these fabulous and rare Menorquín stallions and who teach the Menorcan style of dressage. Pictured is Carina Marques Pascual, who was my teacher at the Escola Equëstre Menorquina in Ciutadella de Menorca. She´s absolutely the boss lady of the spectacular ” Es Bot ” which is one of the emblematic postures of the fiestas.

The other milestone is a submission to the Revela-T the analogue photo festival that will take place in Barcelona from 20th May to 5th June 2016. As much of my work is analogue, and since I am preparing my first solo show in Barcelona, I managed to get my submission in there as well. Stay tuned for more news on this upcoming show and don’t forget to add your name to my mailing list for news and updates.
